Shopify Pitch Deck
Commerce platform that lets merchants set up, run, and scale online and physical stores through a unified toolkit.
Shopify
Shopify provides the underlying software that powers millions of independent online stores, along with point-of-sale, payments, shipping, capital, and fulfillment offerings for merchants of every size.
The company was founded in 2006 by Tobi Lütke, Daniel Weinand, and Scott Lake in Ottawa, Canada, where it remains headquartered. Shopify went public on the New York Stock Exchange and Toronto Stock Exchange in 2015.
This 2016 investor deck was prepared shortly after the IPO to communicate the size of the merchant opportunity and the flywheel between merchant success and platform revenue. It is frequently cited as a strong example of a public-company investor narrative.
